Graffiti!

graffiti have a new concept around the world, in the past the urban art was criticized but today this particular kind of art has gained relevance in the society and maybe it will continue to change through the years. In Colombia the urban artists use the graffities as a way to define the sociopolitical conflicts that are seen behind a cultural perspective common in Colombia, some of those images reveals the violence in Colombia, but in general Graffities in Colombia are used as a way of expression, at the same time in Brazil and Argentina the urban art have a particular definition, Graffities are used as a way of expression but with a little pound of artist perspective, so graffities in Argentina and Brazil are seen as Art. In Honduras, there is a conflict of power and sometimes this way of expression is criticized. Lets practice graffiti, is a way of expression.

afro colombian culture

In Colombia We've several problems about afro racism, some of those are illiteracy, Afro kids mortality. But we can't say that everything is bad, for example there are  communities that works intensively every day against racial segregation, the research activity about racism and repair has taken strong in the last years, the observatory of racial discrimination, is a space of researching and discussion, it is articulated with several communities in Colombia.

We can change those indicators about racism, and thats why i will talk a little about how we can improve racism indicators by influencing the education.

I think that the only way to change this racism environment in Colombia is by modifying the metodology of education. Inside the School classrooms the teachers define the racism, and the students know that there is racism in Colombia. In the university we have an academic perspective about racism, but the movements are limited by the system. But there are counted researching groups that are supported by the goverment. As a first step i mentioned a change in the metodology, but we can't obtain a change in the metodology without a change in the theory. In this sense, if the teachers change the traditional way of lecturing to a proactive, dynamic and creative perspective, the young people can identify the most important problems about racism in the society. The Canadian Journal of Education made a research about the Anti-Racism education, you can read it in this link: http://www.csse-scee.ca/CJE/Articles/FullText/CJE19-4/CJE19-4-08Mansfield.pdf .

The Bangkok's Mexican gangsters

The Bangkok's Mexican gangsters group is a kind of subculture that have taken the main aesthetics characteristics of the Original Mexican Gangsters culture. I emphasize that is basically an aesthetic subculture, because they only imitate the superficial characteristics of Mexican gangsters, which are the type of clothes, music, style, tattoos, headgears, shoes and also the treatment between them. As you can see when you enter the following link They don't names themselves as Mexican gangsters, they are the Bangkok's Mexican gangsters.

A big difference between the original group and them is that the Bangkok's Mexican Gangsters avoid the Violence, 'el machismo' and the lack of respect in the society. I think that this type of subculture is acceptable because they Respect the original culture but change these aspects that the society considers bad. If the Bangkok's Mexican gangsters criticizes constantly the Mexican culture it couldn't be acceptable from Mexicans gangsters.

By all these factors, BMG is an example of cultural appropriation of Mexican Gangsters subculture, with a little impact in the Mexican Gangsters subculture, they don't change the main factors that belongs to the Mexican gangsters culture. Thanks to this short introduction of the Bangkok's Mexican Gangsters, it is nottable that they respect the original culture, every country, city or specific location around the world have its own culture, so we must respect the foreign culture.
